We celebrated our 12th house-iversary by…working on the house! We’re building new carriage doors for the garage. OMG, they’re gonna be bEAUtiful! You can buy custom-designed and custom-size carriage doors–for a small fortune, and idk how much the shipping would be on top of that We’re building them with a carpenter friend, using marine plywood for the backs of the doors and thick cedar for the frame rails and stiles. I’m painting them before hanging because it’s easier that way. We enjoy doing it ourselves, and we’re getting the bonus of some lessons from our friend, plus we can save part of that small fortune.
We started around Valentine’s Day; we’ve been working some 13 and 14 hour days, trying to keep up with our friend’s schedule. But it will all be worth it, right?
