Office Space

From rough attic storage to an office in a mere 7 years!  😉

Well, nothing much happened during most of that time — a few months in the beginning, a few months in the middle, a few months in the end, and now, finally, I’m thrilled with my new office space.  Story in pictures in the attached album, should you be interested.  🙂

Other areas of the attic are still in progress, but I’m going to take a break for a day or two.  Maybe even get back to my easel (woo-double-hoo!).

It started out as rough storage

Then we added knee walls and raised the cross-beams

Next, we replaced the vents with windows.

New windows are in!

Insulated the walls and under the roof with spray-foam

Added sheetrock…

Had it textured, and I’m preparing to prime

Floor underlayment went in this summer, 3 years after we last had any work done up there

And then the new vinyl flooring

Assembled some unfinished store-bought cabinets

Trying out furniture arrangements

Installed about 100 linear feet of baseboard…

…and casing, so far

Added a cross piece to the windows to hold shades

Then a month of finishing and varnishing the cabinets, desktops, and edging

And finally, yesterday I completed building the desktop
